An introduction to professional practice (challenge 1)

Prof. Practice provides opportunity to research and investigate an area of the work force/ industry which you are most interested in. It is important to take notes, make reflective comments and provide evidence throughout for own benefit.

Point of engaging with this module is to gain further insight into 1 or more specific profession within chosen industry. Might be best to focus on one or two people from chosen profession to engage with and to shadow or interview about aspects such as path which led them to said career and the further opportunities they look for in the present/future and the key roles of their working day. What experience they had previously and experience they have gained in said role.

A key point from this introduction lecture, is taking this opportunity for own personal and professional benefit to explore, observe, experience and engage with areas of the industry which seem most appealing. This empirical research might reveal that maybe my chosen career[s] are not what I first thought and may not be as glamorous as they seem. Thats why investigating through interviews, observation etc are an important part of this process. Not only gaining experience such as being able to present yourself professionally and communicate on a professional level but to find out information that will help guide me in my path for after graduation.
